Hopefully Sager will be doing this all year to opposing quarterbacks and not just our guys at practice. (Picture credit: http://www.tampabayonline.com)

Luke Sager impressed the coaches this spring and should be a starter entering the 2013 season.

Luke Sager – Defensive tackle – Redshirt senior – 6’3″ 275 lbs. – Niceville, FL (Niceville HS)

2012: Sager played in all 12 games last season, recording 26 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 1 quarterback hit.  In 2011, he appeared in 10 games, totaling 10 tackles, 3 tackles for loss including one sack.

2013 Bull Rush Projection: Sager has impressed Taggart and the coaching staff, both on and off the field.  He was the first player signed in free agency for the spring game by the green team, showing  how much confidence they have in him and how much he has improved.  On the field, Sager has solid size and is athletic enough to make plays up the middle of the field, but can also run with mobile quarterbacks and running backs.  With all the high praise for him, Sager should be one of the starters on opening day and should have a solid season up front.  Look for Sager to have a strong senior season for the front, a unit that should be the strength of the Bulls.
