A lot has happened in the last year.  The Big East as we knew it as a football conference is all gone.  The Big East schools, the Catholic 7, took the name, and left with their basketball programs.  The remaining teams (USF, Cincinnati, and Uconn) and the new additions formed the AAC.  Louisville, Pitt, and Syracuse all left to the ACC, Notre Dame went too and Rutgers bolted to the Big Ten (have fun you guys).  Now the Bulls sit in a brand new conference with a lot of former C-USA teams now making up the new ranks.  But what does this mean for USF, especially the football and basketball programs? Yesterday, the USF nation got pretty excited for the announcement of quarterback Steven Bench and his decision to come to USF.  Does his arrival mean a national championship this season? Doubtful, but it does mean something to the stability and rebirth of the program.  (more…)
